Illinois announced 2,157 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 37 deaths on Wednesday. That’s the most deaths in one day since July 7, according to IDPH data. Overall, Illinois has reported 7,954 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic, as well as 225,627 total known cases.
