Prayer vigil tonight for the Weaver family.

Dear Evanston,

Our hearts, thoughts, and prayers are with Clarence and Wendy Weaver and their entire family.

As many of you know, Clarence and Wendy's son CJ died tragically this past Sunday in Lake Michigan when he and a group of friends took a boat out to enjoy the beautiful day. After four agonizing days of waiting, CJ's body was found early this morning. The Weavers have asked everyone to respect their privacy at this time.

There will be a prayer vigil for the Weaver family tonight at 6 p.m. outside C & W Market and Ice Cream Parlor, the store they own and from where they practice their incredible dedication to our community. The store is on the corner of Church and Dodge.

Please, if you can, attend the vigil tonight to show support and love to the family.

Community members are working hard to make sure the Weavers' store continues to operate during this time and that the work they do every Wednesday and Saturday to feed seniors and families during this time of pandemic continues.

More information will be forthcoming about how we can all support the Weavers during this difficult time.

Would love to know how we can help. Met Clarence Weaver Sr. for the first time this year when stopping by for ice cream. He had an immediate warmth and light and we walked out with fabulous ice cream and an improved outlook on the day. We are sending so much love to the family as they cope with the unimaginable. We would love to support.
